Dan Munnerley presenting at Meta Reality Labs, Burlingame

It was a privilege to present at Meta Innovation Day 2025 at Meta Reality Labs in Burlingame, California.

As part of the keynote program, I shared the work of ASU Next Lab, where students and researchers are exploring the intersections of AI, VR, and spatial computing to reimagine learning. Our projects demonstrate how immersive technologies can build deeper connections between human experience and knowledge — expanding how, where, and why people learn.

This year’s event coincided with the launch of Meta for Education, an initiative empowering educators to design, share, and deploy immersive learning experiences. It was inspiring to connect with educators and innovators shaping the future of extended reality in K-12, higher education, and professional training.

Confirmed keynote speakers included:

  • Dan Munnerley, Executive Director, Next Lab, Arizona State University
  • Adam Mangana, M.Ed., President and CEO, OptimaEd

Confirmed exhibitors showcased pioneering educational applications:

  • VRpatients — No-code platform for AI-driven clinical simulations
  • Inspirit — XR STEM and career content platform
  • ENGAGE XR — Immersive platform for education and training

My thanks to Robin Deng, Deyo Ade-John, Nicole Staubli, David Hsu, Christine Trodella, Chris Madsen, Mikhail Shneyder, and Adam Mangana for their collaboration and support in making this event possible.

The conversations at Meta Innovation Day reflected a shared purpose — building accessible, high-impact learning systems powered by immersive technologies and human imagination.
