Dan Munnerley and Bea Rodriguez-Fransen, Ed.D. had the honor of representing ASU Next Lab at the first-everMeta Education Summit in Menlo Park!
Dan and Bea joined an inspiring panel discussion on the impact of open-source AI and VR in education, where they showcased Next Lab’s unique student-led model. They shared insights on ethical and sustainable tech futures. They introduced the audience to our innovative use of Llama AI for offline, off-grid capabilities—an approach that’s a true game-changer for learners in underserved communities. By enabling personalized AI without the need for constant internet access, Llama AI helps bridge the digital divide, making it possible for students in remote and marginalized areas to access transformative learning tools.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of the Meta Education Summit team, including Nicole Staubli, Matthew Sanders, Christopher Borunda, and all those who participated and contributed to the event’s success. Together, they represented some of the most visionary minds in immersive learning and AI from across the country.
We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this forward-looking community and can’t wait to continue building the future of education, where technology empowers all learners, no matter where they are. Here’s to more groundbreaking collaborations and to advancing a digital world where inclusivity and innovation go hand in hand!
