ASU Next Lab at the Immersive Innovation Summit 2025

by dan · January 11, 2025

This week, ASU Next Lab participated in the Immersive Innovation Summit at Arizona State University, a gathering of more than 150 experts, leaders, and innovators advancing the fields of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and immersive technologies.

The summit created a shared space for dialogue between technologists, educators, and creative practitioners exploring how immersive experiences can extend human learning and collaboration.

Showcasing Next Lab’s Applied Research

At Next Lab, our presentation featured recent work in AI-driven user personas, digital twins, and VR learning simulations. These projects demonstrate how computational systems and spatial technologies can be integrated to enhance decision-making, design learning environments, and model complex systems.

Our studio associates presented examples of how AI and game technologies are shaping adaptive, data-informed learning spaces that respond to context and user needs.

A Broader Ecosystem of Innovation

The summit also celebrated the depth of innovation across ASU’s broader ecosystem, including Meteor Studio, the Interplanetary Initiative, Dreamscape Learn, and the Center for Education Through Exploration (ETX).

These teams, alongside ASU Next Lab, continue to advance immersive media and experiential education as core components of ASU’s learning futures strategy.

Building the Future of Immersive Learning

Events such as the Immersive Innovation Summit reinforce ASU’s position as a leading institution in educational technology and innovation. They bring together researchers, engineers, and designers working to translate emerging technologies into transformative learning experiences.

It is a privilege to collaborate with colleagues across ASU who share a commitment to advancing human-centered approaches to technology. The future of AI, VR, and immersive learning is being built here—through shared research, creative exploration, and institutional collaboration.
